Fabulous
Ham Loaf
1 pound lean smoked, ground ham
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/3 tsp. salt
3/4 cup cracker crumbs
1 tsp. chopped parsley
2 well beaten eggs
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup milk
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1 pound lean pork, ground
3/4 tsp Texas Traditions Jalapeño Mustard
Horseradish Sauce:
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 Tbs. prepared horseradish
1/4 cup sour cream
1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
2 Tbs. Texas Traditions Country-Style German Mustard
1 Tbs. minced chives
Salt to taste
Blend ham, crumbs, eggs, milk, pork, onion, salt
and parsley thoroughly, and form into one loaf. Bake at 350 for
30 to 40 minutes. For glaze, combine sugar, vinegar and Texas Traditions
Jalapeño Mustard; boil for 2 minutes. Pour off fat from
ham; glaze and continue cooking 1 hour longer. Baste with glaze
twice more during cooking time and continue to pour off fat as
needed.
Mix horseradish sauce ingredients and refrigerate
until ready to use. Serve ham loaf either hot or cold with the
horseradish sauce on the side. Yields about 6 to 8 servings. After
this ham loaf is fully baked, it can be cooled; wrapped in foil
and frozen until time to serve.
Defrost ham and heat in foil for 30 to 40 minutes.
This recipe doubles easily. For a different twist, in lieu of Horseradish
Sauce,.... glaze warm ham loaf with Texas Traditions Red Chili Pepper Jelly or Jalapeño Pepper Jelly. |
